Iowa House District 51 includes most of Story and Marshall counties. Deyoe’s current district, which he will continue to represent through 2022, includes a similar portion of Story County and the southern half of Hardin County.

“Serving my constituents in the Iowa Statehouse is a tremendous honor,” Deyoe said in a released statement. “I’ve worked hard to implement policies that allow Iowa’s economy to thrive, by working on issues such as economic development, responsible budgeting, and job creation. I believe we’ve done a lot of good for the people of Iowa. But the work’s not done and I plan to continue to serve my community in the statehouse for another term.”

Deyoe farms and has been active with several farm organizations on both the state and local levels over the years. He is currently a voting member on the Iowa Workforce Development Board and is also a member of the Nevada Rotary Club. In the Iowa House, he serves as the Chair of the Labor committee, in addition to his roles on the Appropriations, Commerce, Local Government, Environmental Protection, and Legislative Council committees.

Speaker of the Iowa House Pat Grassley, R-New Hartford, said Deyoe is a strong voice for his constituents.

“Representative Deyoe has an extensive understanding of the issues facing Iowans today,” said Grassley. “With a deep understanding of Iowa’s economic and workforce issues and first-hand experience in agriculture, Deyoe is a great representative who will continue to serve his district well.”

Deyoe will be seeking his ninth term in the Iowa House. He chairs the House Labor Committee and serves on the Appropriations, Commerce, Environmental Protection, and Local Government committees. He lives on the family farm near Nevada.
