NEVADA, Iowa – State Rep. Dave Deyoe, R- Nevada, announced he will not seek another term in the Iowa House of Representatives. Deyoe has served the people of Iowa House District 51 since 2007, serving his ninth term.
“Getting to serve District 51 has been an honor,” Deyoe said. “I am grateful for the continued support my constituents gave me. I have enjoyed the opportunity to serve not only the good people of House District 51 but the people of Iowa. I am pleased with the work we accomplished during my time in the Statehouse.”
During his time in the Iowa House, Deyoe has served on a number of committees, including most recently Commerce, Environmental Protection, Local Government, and Ways and Means. He currently serves as the chairman of the Iowa House Labor and Workforce Committee.
“Dave Deyoe will be missed in the House,” said Iowa House Speaker Pat Grassley. “He has been dedicated through his time here and always put his constituents’ needs first. He is a valuable member in our chamber, and I wish him the best with his retirement from the Iowa Legislature.”
Deyoe’s retirement will create an open seat in Iowa House District 51. House District 51 includes portions of Story and Marshall counties, including the communities of Nevada and Huxley.
