Cruz won the 2016 Iowa Caucus and is serving his second term in the U.S. Senate, he is thought to be a prospective presidential candidate in 2024. Hinson is serving her first term representing Iowa’s 1st Congressional District.

“Ashley Hinson is a fighter.  A fighter for life, securing our border, and for policies that help fuel our economy, not inflation. We have to win back the majority and the road to firing Nancy Pelosi runs right through Iowa’s First Congressional District. Ashley has my full support and I can’t wait to be with all of Team Hinson in Iowa,” Cruz said.

Cruz joins a list of prominent Republicans such as U.S. Senator Tom Cotton, R-Ark., former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, and former Vice President Mike Pence who have recently traveled to the Hawkeye State this year.

Gov. Kim Reynolds, U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, and RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel will also speak at Hinson’s event.

Reynolds called Hinson a “proven conservative.”

“Ashley works tirelessly for Iowans and is delivering every single day for our families, farmers, and small business owners. She is a proven conservative who is bringing much-needed common-sense leadership to Washington. I’ve been a supporter of Ashley since Day 1, and I am excited to support her re-election—Iowans need her to keep fighting for them in Congress,” she said.

Grassley who is likely to run for re-election himself in 2022 said that he is proud to support Hinson.

“I am proud to support Ashley Hinson for re-election. She has already proven herself to be an effective legislator in Congress who puts Iowa first, just like she did in the State House.
Whether it’s fighting for Iowa agriculture, fighting for small businesses, or fighting for families, all Iowans can count on Ashley to tell their stories and go to bat for them in Washington,” he stated.

McDaniel said that Hinson is a role model for other Republican women.

“Ashley is a strong conservative leader who has taken Washington by storm and is showing other women that they can run and win. Ashley stands up for Iowans, and Americans, every single day, and I am proud to stand by her as we work together to take back the House in 2022,” she said.

Those interested in attending can purchase tickets for $40 here. The Linn County Fairgrounds are located at 201 Central City Road, Central City, Iowa 52214.
