Mayor of Nevada and Story County Republican Chair Brett Barker announced his candidacy for Iowa House District 51.

Brett Barker to run in Iowa House District 51

NEVADA, Iowa – Mayor of Nevada and Story County Republican Chair Brett Barker announced his candidacy for Iowa House District 51, currently represented by Representative Dave Deyoe, R-Nevada, who announced his upcoming retirement.

Barker and his wife Tracy live in Nevada where they are raising their four daughters. He is a pharmacist at NuCara Pharmacy and Senior Policy Advisor for the Iowa Pharmacy Association. Barker has served as the Republican Party of Story County Chair since 2015. His experience in public service began in 2011 as a member of the Nevada City Council.
