Iowa GOP Chair Jeff Kaufmann condemned pro-Trump protestors who stormed the U.S. Capitol halting Congressional certification of the Electoral College results.

Iowa GOP Chair Condemns Pro-Trump Protestors Storming U.S. Capitol

DES MOINES, Iowa – Jeff Kaufmann, chairman of the Republican Party of Iowa, condemned pro-Trump protestors who stormed the U.S. Capitol building causing a halt to the Congressional certification of the Electoral College results and the evacuation of Vice President Mike Pence, U.S. Representatives, and U.S. Senators.

Shots have been fired inside the Capitol. And PBS Newshour on their news feed reported a person had been shot inside the Capitol, but it is uncertain whether that person was a protestor, police officer, or someone else.

We are the Party of law and order. This is NOT a peaceful protest. What is happening in Washington, D.C. is utterly unacceptable. I condemn any and all violence toward on our government officials and law enforcement and encourage others to do the same.
