Reynolds Appoints Meghan Corbin as District Court Judge

Gov. Kim Reynolds appointed Meghan Corbin to fill the vacancy created by the upcoming retirement of Judge Mark Cleve in Iowa's 7th Judicial District.

Reynolds Appoints Meghan Corbin as District Court Judge

DES MOINES, Iowa – Gov. Kim Reynolds appointed Meghan Corbin, 35, of Davenport as District Court Judge in Iowa’s 7th Judicial District. She fills the vacancy created by the upcoming retirement of District Court Judge Mark D. Cleve.

Iowa’s 7th Judicial District includes Cedar, Clinton, Jackson, Muscatine, and Scott counties. 

Four applicants applied for the vacancy. The district judicial nominating commission nominated Corbin and Michael Motto, 41, of Davenport for Reynolds to choose between to be her appointee to fill the vacancy. 

Corbin has served as a magistrate in Iowa’s 7th Judicial District since 2017. She has also practiced law at Gomez May LLP in Davenport since 2011, practicing mainly family law. Corbin received her undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa and her law degree from the University of Iowa College of Law. 

She served as head coach for the Pleasant Valley High School Mock Trial Team for three years. Corbin is a current volunteer with Hand in Hand, a non-profit in the Quad Cities that serves families with special needs children, where she served on the board and as an event volunteer.

Corbin also volunteered with RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults)/RICA (Rito de Iniciacion Cristiana para Adultos) at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Davenport. She also serves on the board of The Outing Club and Friends Community Social Club.
