Hinson Raises $850K in 2nd Quarter of 2021

U.S. Rep. Ashley Hinson's fundraising haul for her re-election campaign breaks previous records for a Congressional incumbent in Iowa during the off-year.

U.S. Rep. Ashley Hinson, R-Iowa, represents Iowa's 2nd Congressional District.

MARION, Iowa –  U.S. Rep. Ashley Hinson, R-Iowa, announced her re-election campaign in Iowa’s 1st Congressional District raised more than $850,000 during the second quarter fundraising period of 2021. The fundraising haul breaks previous records for a Congressional incumbent in Iowa during the off-year. Hinson says the amount raised is “an unmistakable signal of continued enthusiasm from grassroots supporters from across Iowa.”

“I am so grateful and humbled by the overwhelming support my campaign continues to receive from Iowans, who, like myself, are sick of the radical left’s destructive policies and never-ending attacks on our freedoms from this Speaker Pelosi-led Congress,” Hinson said in a released statement. “I will continue to do everything I can to hold the Biden Administration accountable, find common ground where possible, and make sure this is Nancy Pelosi’s last term as Speaker. We will take back the House in 2022.”

Hinson’s campaign said among the 9000 unique donors in the second quarter the average donation was $42 and over 97 percent of donations were $100 or less.

The freshman congresswoman raised $499,018 in the first quarter of 2021 and had $410,495.97 in the bank at the start of the second quarter.
