DES MOINES, Iowa – U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, during a speech on the U.S. Senate floor, criticized the U.S. Department of Justice for redacting the FD-1023 form used by the FBI to catalog information produced in its investigation of alleged bribery scheme involving Hunter Biden, then Vice President Joe Biden, and the Ukrainian energy company Burisma that was brought to light in an article in the New York Post before the 2020 election.

After being subpoenaed, the FBI produced a redacted version of the form for the House Oversight Committee, a document that Grassley said was already unclassified. He also stated that members of Congress were required to view the document in a secure location.

Grassley, who said he has seen the unredacted version, said the form states foreign national who allegedly bribed Biden has 17 audio recordings of his conversations with the Bidens.

“According to the 1023, the foreign national possesses fifteen audio recordings of phone calls between him and Hunter Biden. According to the 1023, the foreign national possesses two audio recordings of phone calls between him and then-Vice President Joe Biden. These recordings were allegedly kept as a sort of insurance policy for the foreign national in case he got into a tight spot. The 1023 also indicates that then-Vice President Joe Biden may have been involved in Burisma employing Hunter Biden,” he said.

Grassley called on the FBI and Department of Justice to make the document public.
