“Three years of Joe Biden has led to record inflation, an open border, crime, and the destruction of America’s image on the world stage. Biden wants us to believe nothing is wrong, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Iowans, and Americans, know it. We are a resilient country, and we can restore our greatness. It begins with retiring Joe Biden and defeating him in November,” Gov. Kim Reynolds said.

“In Biden’s state of confusion address he threw out many false claims but Americans know that the only thing Pres. Biden has delivered is chaos at the border, the highest inflation in 40 years, record levels of crime, and a weakened foreign policy position,” Iowa GOP Chairman Jeff Kaufmann said in a released statement. “Iowans have had enough of the liberal woke agenda and are eager to send Joe Biden on a permanent beach vacation in November.”

“Joe Biden’s mind isn’t the only thing failing, his policies are failing us too,” U.S. Rep. Ashley Hinson, R-Iowa, said in a video response. “The contrast between the failed Biden agenda of open borders, reckless spending, and government control and the Republican agenda of closing the border, restoring fiscal responsibility, and helping families achieve their American dream was on full display tonight.”

U.S. Senator Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, posted on X (formerly Twitter) during the speech. In one post, she said, “Joe Biden has no real plan. But he wants you to believe his policies are bringing down the debt. Fact check: our national debt is rising by $1 TRILLION every 100 days.”

U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra, R-Iowa, criticized Biden’s response to the southern border on X.

“President Biden’s radical policies have allowed more than 7 million illegal immigrants to unlawfully cross our border. He isn’t serious about securing our border, building the wall, or fighting the fentanyl epidemic. His words are just a political stunt,” he posted.

U.S. Rep. Zach Nunn, R-Iowa, also criticized Biden’s border response on X.

This Administration is responsible for the worst humanitarian & drug crisis our country has ever faced. I brought a photo of Sebastian, a 17-year-old from Des Moines who died b/c of fentanyl poisoning, on the floor as a reminder of the tragic costs of their open-border policies. pic.twitter.com/WDezMBLUAd
