“I officially filed to run for re-election in Iowa’s Second Congressional District with the support of over 7,500 Iowans. I appreciate all of our Team Hinson volunteers who knocked doors, made phone calls, and spread our commonsense, conservative message across the district to help grow our grassroots team. There is so much enthusiasm to keep this seat red, fire Joe Biden, and get our country back on track. We are going to win big in November!” she said.

Hinson, 40, raised $2.3 million in 2023 for her re-election campaign. Currently, two Democrats are running to challenge Hinson. The first is Sarah Corkery, 48, a small business owner from Cedar Falls. Then, Jacob Wieland, 29, a graduate student at the University of Iowa and Democrat campaign operative, from Independence has also announced he will run.

Stephen Kephart, 47, an assistant manager at an auto repair shop from Cedar Rapids, announced he would challenge Hinson for the Republican nomination.
