DES MOINES, Iowa – The Iowa Torch has learned that U.S. Senator Tim Scott,R-S.C., will spend $350,000 on a radio ad campaign in Iowa for his presidential campaign this summer. The radio ad campaign includes an ad focused on his record opposing abortion and legislation he would support as president entitled “Sanctity of Life” that will air on Christian radio stations statewide.

The ad comes shortly after the Iowa Supreme Court allowed Iowa’s six-week fetal heartbeat abortion ban to remain blocked after a split opinion that left the final word with the district court.

Scott is competing in a crowded Republican field of 13 candidates including former President Donald Trump. The winner of past Iowa Caucuses gained the support of evangelicals, the largest voting bloc within the Republican base in Iowa.

“Senator Tim Scott is a Christian conservative who believes that life is a gift from God. Scott has a 100 percent pro-life voting record, and he fought to put three new conservative justices on the Supreme Court, sending Roe v. Wade to the ash heap of history,” the ad’s narrator states. “As president, Tim Scott will protect our most fundamental right, the right to life itself.”

Scott in the ad promises to sign the “most pro-life legislation” that crosses his desk if elected President.

“Our immediate priority should be passing a national 15-week limit on abortion while we support Republican-led states that do even more to protect life,” he says in the ad. “The Biden liberals support abortion up until the moment of birth. I’m running for president to stop their radical agenda and create a culture of life in America.”

The ad accompanies a “Faith in America” tour that Scott has conducted in early primary states including a recent town hall in Pella.
