Bloomingdale announces re-election campaign in new Iowa House District 60

State Rep. Jane Bloomingdale, R-Northwood, announced she would seek re-election for a fourth term in the newly drawn Iowa House District 60.

Bloomingdale announces re-election campaign in new Iowa House District 60

State Rep. Jane Bloomingdale, R-Northwood, represents Iowa House District 51.

DES MOINES, Iowa – State Rep. Jane Bloomingdale, R-Northwood, announced her re-election bid for Iowa House. Bloomingdale currently represents Iowa House District 51. Under the newly confirmed redistricting maps, she will run for Iowa House District 60 in 2022.

“It is an honor to serve as our State Representative,” said Bloomingdale. “I truly appreciate the opportunity that the people of House District 51 have given me to represent us in the Iowa House and I look forward to meeting my new constituents in House District 60. I will continue to listen to your concerns and deliver on your priorities.”

Bloomingdale is a life-long resident of Northwood. She’s served in city government for 20 years on city council and as mayor. She has a degree in education and worked for the Northwood-Kensett school district as a coach and substitute teacher. She continued her education in accounting and has owned and operated Bloomingdale Tax and Accounting for 30 years.

In the Iowa House, Bloomingdale chairs the Local Government committee, additionally, she serves on the State Government, Ways and Means, and Legislative Council committees, and the Administration and Regulation budget subcommittee.

Speaker of the Iowa House Pat Grassley, R-New Hartford, praised Bloomingdale’s work in the Iowa House.

“Jane is a strong voice for her district and fights hard for what she believes in,” said Grassley. “We can always count on her to bring solution-oriented ideas to the table to solve real problems facing Iowans. I look forward to continuing to work with her in the Statehouse.”

The new Iowa House District 60 includes all of Worth and Mitchell counties as well as the Western portion of Cerro Gordo and a western part of Floyd county. Her current district, which she will continue to represent through 2022, contains all of Worth, Mitchell, and Howard counties in addition to the Northwestern portion of Winneshiek county.

Bloomingdale will be seeking her fourth term in the Iowa House. She lives in Northwood, Iowa with her husband Jim and together they have two children.
