“I know how to clean up a mess and trust me, there are plenty of messes in Des Moines that need to be cleaned up,” said Wasson. “My fellow citizens who call rural Linn and Benton counties home need an advocate in Des Moines that will work to support our struggling businesses and farmers, push back against the teaching of far-left ideologies in public schools and fight for the much-needed tax reforms and financial relief our senior citizens deserve.”

He is also a long-time community volunteer, having donated his time to Big Brothers Big Sisters, Junior Achievement and Feed Iowa First among many other organizations.

Wasson says while he is proud to be the only conservative Republican candidate who has entered the District 42 race. He states he has the support of a broad coalition that includes Democrats, independents and first-time voters.

The Republican primary will be held on June 7, 2022.
