DES MOINES, Iowa – Dallas County Sheriff Chad Leonard announced his support on Tuesday for Nicole Hasso in the Republican primary for Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District.

“I know Nicole has our back,” said Leonard. “No one else in this race brings first-hand knowledge of the devastation and destruction Democrat policies bring to our cities and towns. Nicole backs the blue, and we back her. Nicole Hasso has my complete and total endorsement in the race to take back Iowa’s third congressional district.”

Chad Leonard is a five-term Sheriff, currently serving Dallas County. He has been in law enforcement for 27 years and has served in both in the United States Marine Corps and the Iowa National Guard.

“I am honored to have the trust of Sheriff Chad Leonard and look forward to representing the voice of the entire law enforcement community in Washington, D.C.,” said Hasso. “Cindy Axne is supported by radical groups that want to defund the Police and I will always back the blue.”

Hasso grew up on Chicago’s south side and was the first in her family to graduate high school and earned an academic scholarship to Drake University. She criticized the gun control measures her family lived under in Chicago.

“Growing up on the South Side of Chicago I saw first-hand the destruction Democrat policies bring to communities,” said Hasso. “I am glad to live in Iowa and enjoy practicing my Second Amendment rights as a law-abiding concealed carry permit holder.”

Hasso also received an endorsement from U.S. Senator Ted Cruz who held a campaign kickoff rally and fundraiser for Hasso in Johnston.
