“I’ve really enjoyed my time in the Iowa Legislature,” Best said. “I represent an area that I really love and am passionate about delivering on their priorities.”

Iowa House District 11 includes all of Carroll and Audubon counties as well southeastern Shelby county and part of northern Pottawattamie county. His current district, Iowa House District 12, which he will continue to represent through 2022, included all of Carroll County and parts of Crawford and Audubon counties.

Speaker of the Iowa House Pat Grassley, R-New Hartford, said Best is a legislator who works hard for his district.

“Brian Best represents his district very well,” he said in a released statement. “He works hard to give his constituents the representation they deserve, by constantly seeking their feedback and input. That’s the kind of legislator Iowans want representing them in their Statehouse and I’m confident they’ll send Brian Best back to the Iowa House in 2022.”

Best, 61, has served in the Iowa House since 2015. He is the chair of the Iowa House Transportation Committee and serves on the Agriculture, Labor, and Commerce committees. He lives in Glidden with his wife Sharon. Together they have four grown children.
