DES MOINES, Iowa – Gov. Kim Reynolds on Thursday announced her appointment of Stacy Ritchie, 51, as a district court judge in Iowa Judicial District 5A.
Iowa Judicial District 5A includes Dallas, Guthrie, Jasper, Madison, Marion, and Warren counties.
Ritchie of Adel, Iowa, currently serves as an Assistant Dallas County Attorney. She has served in that capacity since 2001. She received her undergraduate degree from Bethel College in St. Paul, Minnesota, and her law degree from the Drake University Law School.
She has been a regular attendee and volunteer at Valley Church in West Des Moines and New Hope Evangelical Free Church in Adel. She has previously been a member of the American Bar Association and Iowa Bar Association. She is currently a member of the Dallas County Bar Association and Iowa County Attorney Association.
The district judicial nomination commission sent the nominations of Ritchie and Brent Hinders of Norwalk to Reynolds on August 9 to decide between filling the vacancy left by the upcoming retirement of District Court Judge Richard Clogg.
