WATCH: Johnston City Council Special Election Candidate Forum

Candidates in Johnston's City Council special election participated in a candidate forum sponsored by the Johnston Economic Development Corporation.

JOHNSTON, Iowa – Candidates in Johnston’s City Council special election participated in a candidate forum sponsored by the Johnston Economic Development Corporation on Wednesday. Bryan Burkhardt, Jim Gorsche, Adam Haar, and Brei Johnson are running to fill a seat that is vacant after Councilman Scott Syroka resigned in March to take a position with the Biden-Harris Administration.

The primary in Johnston’s special election is Tuesday, May 25 since more than two candidates filed, the top two candidates will then advance to participate in the special election on Tuesday, June 22.
