WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. Ashley Hinson, R-Iowa, announced that she joined the Curbing Abuse and Saving Expression in Technology (CASE-IT) Act as an original cosponsor. The CASE-IT Act requires online platforms to adhere to the spirit of the First Amendment when moderating content in order to receive liability protection under Section 230.

“For too long, Big Tech platforms have been playing by their own rules while hiding behind Section 230 for blanket immunity from their actions. This legislation will help hold online platforms accountable for selectively censoring conservative voices as well as allowing minors to see and engage with explicit content,” Hinson said.
